Levanter. The word “levanter” refers to a strong easterly wind in the region of the Mediterranean, but more accurately describes the winds of destiny and change. Madeleine Alvaro, in her debut EP, captures not only the journey of the protagonist, Santiago, but her own journey in sharing her music with the world. One gets the feeling when listening to her EP that the story is somehow her own, as she sings with a deep emotional connection to not only The Alchemist, but to her own lyrics and music.
